How we use AI
In short
AI helps us keep the world safe and helps our team write questions. People stay in charge, and we never send names, emails or dates of birth to an AI service.
Where we use AI
- Writing questions. Our team uses AI to turn a syllabus into topics and draft quiz questions. A person checks the drafts before students ever see them.
- Keeping worlds safe. When someone builds their own world, quiz or quest, the words they write are checked against our safe words list and then read by an AI against our ethos. If the check cannot be completed, nothing is published.
- Coming soon. Marking practice writing in English, with feedback for the student. Before this is switched on, we will update this page.
Which AI service we use
We currently use Groq to run AI models. We send it only the text that needs checking or writing, never names, email addresses, dates of birth or passwords.
What AI does not do
- It does not decide whether an account is suspended or blocked. A person always does.
- It does not replace a parent or a teacher.
- It is not used to target advertising or to build profiles of anyone.
Being open about AI
We will tell you when something you read or talk to was produced by AI, in line with the transparency rules of the EU AI Act. AI can make mistakes, so our team reviews what it produces and you can report anything that looks wrong.
