Terms of service

Last updated 26 October 2026

In short

Use the world kindly and honestly. Your account is personal, you keep the rights to what you make, and you can close your account at any time.

About these terms

These terms explain the agreement between you and us when you use Immanuel Virtual World. Immanuel Virtual World is run by Ruth Benjamin Marvin, trading as TeachingComputing.com (sole trader). TeachingComputing.com is a trading name, not a limited company, so there is no company number. In these terms “we” and “us” means Ruth Benjamin Marvin trading as TeachingComputing.com.

Address: . Email: info@immanuelvirtualworld.com. VAT number: .

By creating an account you agree to these terms, our Community and ethos agreement, our Privacy policy and our GDPR policy. If you are under 16 (or under 18 in India, where the law asks for it), a parent or guardian must agree for you, and the account stays closed until they confirm by email.

Your account

  • An account is for one named person. Please give true details, including your date of birth.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using your account.

Prices and paying

  • Our plans and prices are on our Pricing page. Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where it applies. Until paid plans begin, the world is free to use, and the Pricing page says when that changes.
  • We will always tell you before anything is charged, and nothing is charged without your agreement.
  • Paid plans renew until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • If you buy as a consumer, you have 14 days to change your mind and get a full refund. Because the world is digital content, this right ends if you ask us to start straight away and agree that you will lose it. Your other legal rights are not affected.
  • Schools and organisations may be invoiced. Their contract with us also sets out what they have agreed.

Using the world

Please use the world in line with our Community and ethos agreement. You must not:

  • break the law, or harm, bully or frighten anyone;
  • try to get around the safety features, or reach parts of the service you are not allowed to;
  • copy, sell or reuse our content outside the world without our permission;
  • use automated tools, scrape the service, or try to disrupt or overload it.

What you make

You keep the rights to worlds, quizzes, quests and other things you make. You give us permission to store and show them in the world so that the people you share them with can use them. We may remove anything that breaks these terms or our ethos.

Our content

The world, its spaces, characters, questions and design belong to us or to the people who license them to us. Films and lessons shown on the big screens belong to their owners and are shown under their terms.

Changes and availability

The world grows and changes as new places are built. We work hard to keep it running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of faults. We may change or stop features, and we will give reasonable notice of any change that affects what you have paid for.

Suspending or closing an account

We may suspend or block an account that breaks these terms or our ethos, or to keep people safe. When free access ends, an account may need a paid plan to carry on. You can close your account at any time by writing to info@immanuelvirtualworld.com.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably foresee, or for losses to a business. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms do not affect.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in its courts. If you live in Scotland, Northern Ireland or a country of the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws where you live and may bring a claim in your local courts.

Please talk to us first. Most problems can be sorted out quickly.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
