Children’s privacy

Last updated 26 October 2026

In short

This page explains, in plain words, what we keep about you and how we look after it. Grown-ups can read the full Privacy policy.

In short

  • We keep only what we need to run the world and keep you safe.
  • We never sell your information and we never show you adverts.
  • Nobody can search for you by name, and we never ask for a photo of your face.
  • If you are under 16 (under 18 in India), a parent or guardian fills in the sign-up and confirms from their own email before you can play.

What we keep

Your first name, last name, username, email address, password (scrambled so nobody can read it), date of birth, your country, and your school if you add it. If you are under 16, we also keep your parent or guardian’s name and email.

We keep your learning: your learning ticks, the questions you answer, your coins, your quiz game results and your quest results. If your teacher sets you a quest, your teacher can see how you did. We also keep the avatar you design.

When lessons and learning with friends are switched on, we also keep how far you got in a lesson, invites into a shared copy of the world, group scores and badges. Chat with friends can be kept for 30 days, and a whiteboard picture for 7 days, so an adult can look if someone reports it. A parent can turn invites, that chat and the whiteboard off. All of it is deleted with the account. A lesson does not change quiz mastery.

Chat messages are not saved as a history, except for that friends chat while learning together is switched on. If someone reports a message, we keep the report.

We also keep a note of which pages were opened, so we can see how the site is used. That note has the internet address and the town, not a cookie, and it is not used for advertising. A parent can ask us to delete it.

Friends

You can add a friend only by typing their friend code. Your friend code is shown only to you. Both of you must say yes before you become friends. You can remove a friend, block someone or report someone at any time from your account page.

A friend can see your username, your school or community, and whether you are online. A friend can invite you to a private world. Friends cannot see your last name, email address, date of birth or your progress.

Adults, including teachers, cannot be friends with anyone under 18. Teachers use private world codes with their class instead.

If you are under 16, you can be friends with someone from your own school or community straight away. To be friends with someone from a different school or community, a parent or guardian must approve by email first. We email a parent each time you get a new friend.

Private worlds and quiz games

A private world is a copy of the world that only people with its code can enter. When you start one, only your friends can join. A private world disappears when everyone has left it.

In a quiz game you are shown by your username only. There is no chat during a game, only a few ready-made emotes, and the host can remove anyone. We keep your score and answers so you can see your game history, and your teacher can see the results of the games they ran.

Reports

Every report is read by an adult on our team. We keep the report, the usernames involved and the date, so we can keep everyone safe.

Your rights

You, or your parent or guardian, can ask to see what we keep about you, to fix anything that is wrong, or to delete your account. Just write to info@immanuelvirtualworld.com.

For parents and guardians

We ask a parent or guardian to agree for every child under 16, in every country. The UK age is 13 and some EU countries use 13, 14, 15 or 16. Using 16 covers all of them. Where a country’s law asks for an older age, we use that age: in India a parent agrees until 18. Chat and voice stay off for anyone under 13. From 16 October 2026 a new account stays closed until you confirm the email we send you. You can read the full details in our GDPR policy, Privacy policy and Safeguarding policy.

We do not use Google sign-in. A child’s name and email stay on this site.
