Community and ethos
In short
Immanuel Virtual World is built on a Christian, Biblical foundation. Everyone is welcome who is happy to learn, explore and create here kindly and honestly.
Our foundation
Immanuel Virtual World is built on a Christian, Biblical world view. It shapes what we teach, how we teach it and how we treat one another. We welcome everyone, of any faith or none, who is happy to explore, learn and create here in that spirit.
If that is not what you are looking for, this may not be the right place for you, and that is alright.
What we ask of everyone
- Be kind. No swearing, no cruelty and no mockery. A joke at someone’s expense is treated the same way as unkind words.
- Be honest. Use your own account, tell the truth about your age and never pretend to be someone else.
- Be safe. Never share your home address, phone number, passwords or photographs of yourself, and never ask anyone else for theirs.
- Be respectful. Treat other people, their beliefs and their work with respect, even when you disagree.
- Be fair. Do not cheat, spam, hack or try to get around the safety features.
- Keep it clean. Names, avatars, worlds, quizzes and quests you make must be suitable for children.
What we teach
Our subject spaces teach accurately and carefully. Where a subject touches on faith, we teach from a Christian perspective while treating other views fairly and respectfully. Great thinkers are shown with their discoveries and, where it is part of their story, their faith.
If something goes wrong
Most problems are put right with a gentle reminder. If someone keeps breaking this agreement, or does something serious, we may turn off their chat, remove things they have made, or suspend or block their account. Anything that puts a child at risk is handled under our Safeguarding policy.
You can report a person from your account page, or write to us at info@immanuelvirtualworld.com.
Agreeing to this
Everyone agrees to this when they create an account. Parents and guardians agree on behalf of children under 16. It sits alongside our Terms of service.
